Happy New Year!!! Hope your holiday was a good one. Quilter's Cove had their first Retreat at the Cape Point Hotel in West Yarmouth, Mass.
in December and it was a huge success!! Everyone that attended reported they had a great time and are looking forward to the next one.
I would like to thank everyone that came not only for attending but for all the great feed back I received. I have already inquired about booking
for next year and will let you know as soon as I get some dates. Check out some of our photos and the end of the newsletter.

Medallion Quilt !!! Our new block of the month is starting this month. It is made with Marti Michell's templates and done with reproduciton fabrics
by Marcus Brothers. The finished size is approximately 94 1/2" square. You can view it on line. Sign up early as there is a limited supply.

Classes!!! We have some great classes coming up. Learn how to make a jacket, Yes a jacket that really fits you to a tee. Make some great Easter decorations out of thread and your embrodery machine. Be sure to view the class list.

2009!!! This year we are looking forward to a lot of great things, I will be attending market in the Spring and that is always fun, lots of new
ideas coming your way. September will bring the Shop Hop once again, and I am hoping to bring in some more trunk shows soon. Keep checking

Hawaiian Star
The Hawaiian Star class continues to meet on the second Saturday of the month. Everyone is doing a great job on this foundation piecing project. Its great to see how everyones colors are coming together. Keep up the good work.

Jacket fit to a tee!!!

This jacket is made from a pattern book "Everyday Jackets ...Again" by Cindy Taylor Oates. We are going to do this class as 2 four hour sessions so that we don't have to stop just when we get going. Feel free to bring your lunch. Embroidery on jacket is optional.

Bella Bella Cosmati Rings II Continues
The designers of Cosmati Rings loved circles and curves and adapted traditional patterns to fit inside curved rings. Use foundation piecing to create this Italian mosaic quilt.

Loves Me Loves Me Knot
What looks like curved piecing is not acutally piecing at all but rather curved applique' layered on top of easy to make foundation blocks. Come learn this great technique while making this beautiful quilt.

Helpful Hint

Pressing!!!

One of the most important steps to quilting is pressing "not Ironing". It is important to press after sewing each seam. Use a light touch when pressing each seam, this means lifting the iron up then placing it on the seam each time. This will help to keep the shape and not cause arcs on your strips.
